In response to meeting the needs of policy holders in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, National Lloyds increased the number of its adjusters for the Texas Gulf Coast region and staffed up its main operations center in Waco in what it expects to be a very busy next couple of months, as people begin to dig out from Harvey, assess the damage, and file insurance claims. National Lloyds employees were already fielding increased call activity last week. To support the operations center staff, Hilltop Holdings sent a small cook team to Waco comprised of volunteers to serve complimentary meals to their National Lloyds colleagues hard at work. The volunteer team, headed up by Hilltop Holdings Corporate Culture and Business Development Officer
Andrew Pool, included Hilltop Holdings Social Media Manager and Copywriter Hannah Luera and PlainsCapital Bank Retail Banking Services Manager Marcia Matthews. According to Andrew, the impromptu cook-out was a pleasant surprise for the National Lloyds team.
“When we pulled into the parking lot with our great big cooker in tow and started setting up the tent, we could see people looking out of their office windows and wondering what we were doing,” said Andrew. “As the word got out, the National Lloyds employees started coming outside and lining up for burgers and chicken sandwiches. Everyone was so appreciative. It felt good to know that we were helping.”
